1 Sullivan Larry Sullivan II Professor May Understanding Self & Others INT-101 15 September 2019 Writing Calisthenic 3: Does Grammar Even Matter? In my opinion grammar is all relative to the situation you’re using it in. If I’m around friends for example there’s no point in being formal because those conversations are mostly casual. This also goes for texting, because texts are generally supposed to be short and quick responses. Most people don’t have time to be grammatically correct, because they are just trying to respond as fast as possible. The only times it matters to be grammatically correct is when someone is turning in an English paper, some type of business proposal, or if you are trying to break stereotypes. If someone is turning in an English paper, it’s pretty obvious that the grammar on the paper has to be as close to perfect as possible, because that’s a key part of the class. My issue with this is that some grammar rules are, so unknown that students might lose points over some rule they have never even heard of. Also, grammar rules change from teacher to teacher, so
