Assalamualaikum and good evening to headmaster, teachers and parents I would like to welcome you all and thank everyone for coming. I know you are all very busy and it's difficult to take time away from your daily tasks for meetings. It is a pleasure to be here this evening and to continue our discussion about the concern of our children poor academic performance on Mathematics, Science and the English Language and how to overcome this problem. Educating children has always been imperative to prepare our children to inherit the world, but it is not just the job of the school. Parent Teacher Association (PTA), to a large extent, is a close partner of the school to support its education goal. The aim of Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is assist school to nurture the whole child in all aspects of development. To support this aim, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) will try arranging activities and seminars that raise students’ academic achievement but it all depends on the budget. Currently, our budget it’s quite limited so we cannot arrange activities to overcome this problem but on the other hand, I believe we can work out other solutions. On previous meeting, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) agreed there are several issues that contributing to the problem is due to the teacher attitude and behavior towards teaching and learning in the school. Many teachers lack commitment and concentration to their teaching because of other overburden work needs to be taken care and this make teacher cannot finish the syllabuses or they will teach quickly in order to finish up the syllabuses while ignoring student understanding. When the syllabus is not completed or not properly taught, content that should be taught in the next class which is based on the previous class could not be understood by the student. Since the subject matter syllabuses tend to be spiral, the non-completion of a syllabus tends to have negative cumulative effect on the students such that as they move from grade to grade, they encounter materials they do not have the foundation to study. In the final analysis this results in poor performance in the examination results. A well committed teacher may consider the assigning of homework to students to augment their efforts at completing the content for a particular topic. Homework bore a positive relationship with learning outcomes when it is relevant to learning objectives, assigned regularly in reasonable amounts, well explained, motivational and collected and reviewed during class

time and used as an occasion for feedback to students. Unfortunately, from time to time the quantity of our child homework become lesser maybe because the teacher laziness attitude or the teacher doesn’t have enough time to review and give feedback on the homework. This situation will have poor impacts on the student performance because they don’t have any motivation or pressure to revise and improve their understanding on the selected topic.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
