The company was originally established to provide supplies for magic shows. Alfred Carlton Gilbert was an inventor and a toy manufacturer who invented the Erector engineering set and gained a reputation for producing quality toys. 1.Key systems and processes used by AC Gilbert. a. Supply chain The supply chain management mainly deals with the management of delivery of goods and services to the ultimate customers. The supply chain process can be explained by this flowchart. Distribution : Delivers packaged toys to warehouse for storage.

Product /service delivery A.C Gilbert produced train sets but their most popular lines were chemistry sets, microscopes and their best seller, the Meccano-like erector engineering sets that had been popular with children for more than 50 years. A.C Gilbert toys were not cheap. They were high quality, solidly crafted and make end users part and packaging were designed to last for many year. With the erector set package in long lasting metal boxes. The focus was on educational toys, primary 11 years aimed at boys rather than girls. The company had a limited range but what they did manufacturer was top quality and highly regarded. 2.
