THEORIES IN LEADERSHIP CASE STUDY 2 Theories in Leadership Case Study Case study one 1. Leadership in a nursing institution highly depends on the leader’s personality even when there are any changes in the state which he operates. Externally, when there is a change in the initiative, apart from the internal members of the organization, there are certain factors that play an important role. For instance, modifications that are undertaken by the organization are usually based on the political decisions that are made by the leaders. Technological factors such as the advancements of the equipment are also considered to ensure that the changes that are made are towards the latest technology for effective services[ CITATION Pen06 \l 1033 ]. The changes should also be based on the social and economic status of the people being served by the organization. For instance, if the changes are service based, they should be profitable to the organization, affordable to the users and also maintain the social status of the organization. Yes, there are stakeholders that have an impact when the nursing organization is undergoing any significant change. The government is one of the basic stakeholders that affect the changes in the performance of the institution. For instance, when the institution decides to make changes in performance that will affect the prices of the services, it should first consider the laws set by the government in the pricing for the nursing services. Government environmental laws should also be considered in that the changes should not go against the laws and regulations set. The government as an external stakeholder help set the ethical standards of the institution to ensure that the operations are both consumer and environmental friendly[ CITATION Pol08 \l 1033 ]. In most cases, they set regulations on the competitive factors in the local area and also the employee issues that are in the organization. According to the situational contingency theory, the levels of rewarding and how effectively the employees are engaged are amongst the internal factors that drive change in a nursing institution[ CITATION Ass10 \l 1033 ]. When the employees are highly rewarded, change will be driven faster since they will be highly motivated to carry out their duties. In a situation where the employees are effectively engaged in the changes, the process will be faster as they will offer their support both in terms of carrying out of duties and providing effective ideas.
