INTRODUCTION LAN is one of the forms of pocket broadcast networks. Its properties are determined by transmission media, topology and media access protocols. Transmission media along with topology determines the speed, efficiency of channels, data types that can be channeled and also applications that the network can support. The data of bursts data traffic especially if it is used for electronic mail, filling and so on. In designing LAN, some other important things that need to be considered are standard conditions and compatibility. LAN originally developed separately based on the industry that developed it. LAN technology is currently used: Ethernet / Fast Ethernet (CSMA / CD) / Wireless Ethernet / Gigabyte Ethernet Token ring Wireless LAN ATM LAN (LANE, LAN Emulator) Gigabit Ethernet TASK 1: Understand the impact of LAN technologies. LAN Technologies Peer to peer (Workgroup) Peer to peer or P2P in its simplest form refers to a computer network that using shared architecture. This means that all computers or devices share part time workloads on the network. A computer or device that is part of peer to peer network is the same as another peer. It doesn’t have special partner, not a central charge device in the middle of the network.
