Doing the right thing isn’t always easy and rewarding but it should always be done. All across our nation, in our communities we share everyday moments with our neighbors, family, coworkers, and friends. We go to work or school, the grocery store, or the gas station. It's easy to overlook these routine moments, but as we go about our lives and we see something that doesn't seem quite right, it’s ultimately best to speak up and say something . As it comes to our friendships, it is often difficult for one to do the right thing when he or she knows the other is in the wrong. Friendships, just like any other relationships, are built on trust and once that trust is broken, a feeling of betrayal begins to unfold. I am sure that t here has been a time in everyone's li fe where we all experienced this type of conflict of betrayal, some more severe than others. At my time volunteering at the Serial Inebriate Program , I witnessed an incident of two friends being torn between one telling on the other for breaking a rehabilitation facilities rule , which resulted in one friend’s termination then acceptance into another program; it was the right choice because it ultimately saved his life.
