I. STRATEGIC USE OF TECHNOLOGY A. Business Strategy The business strategy of MTC is to employ skilled consultants in order to provide recommendations and consulting services to its customers as well as developing best practices and new concepts and technology as needed. Currently, the hiring process is done manually and as the company expands, keeping up with that is increasingly challenging. Information technology practices should be introduced and expanded upon in order to meet new the staffing demands of the growing company. B. Competitive Advantage MTC is considered a small to mid-size business (SMB), because it has less than 999 employees, that is competing against larger consultant firms such as Booz Allen Hamilton and Hewlett-Packard (Gartner, n.d.). Implementing a new hiring system will allow MTC to make employment decisions much faster in order to get a leg up on their opponents. C. Strategic Objectives The following table reviews MTC’s goals with explanations of the objectives and how success may be achieved. Strategic Goal Objective Explanation Increase MTC Business Development by winning new contracts in the areas of IT Consulting Win two new contracts in IT consulting Being awarded two new contracts will increase attention and status for MTC.
