I do not believe that I have been given a choice to protect my data from this kind of collection. We live in a technology driven society where everyone is connected to the internet, uses a wide range of different apps, websites and social media. It is an integral part of our lives as we rely so heavily on it as a means of keeping in touch with family that is overseas, carrying out daily banking transactions, using google maps for directions, using YouTube to stream music when you are hanging out with friends… the list goes on and on. However, users are not clearly made aware of exactly how their data is being collected and used nor is there any information easily found on how to prevent or opt out from the collection of your

The problem is these agreements are very long and complex and I feel companies may take advantage of this, as they know that most people are not willing to read through the entirety of them.
