DEFINITION Engineering materials are those materials which are only confined for engineering or technological use and does not cover all materials existing in the nature. Materials are one of the main components of manufacturing system and are selected on the basis of desired properties and characteristics to perform the specific task with minimum cost. All engineering discipline needs to know about materials.
