Anything less is a wish or a hope; it is NOT a financial goal. When we are developing a financial plan, we identify the client's financial goals in order of the client's priorities. This is important because we have to quantify the savings needs, and we have to allocate resources in the order that the client chooses. Clients may not have the same priorities that we do! Keep in mind that it may not be possible for clients to satisfy all goals at the present time. Some goals may need to be postponed. Until we have completed the analysis, we will not know precisely what to recommend. However, during each stage of the analysis, it is advisable to record preliminary strategies so that we do not overlook anything.
