(A) Plot the resulting lateral pressure distribution diagram , to exact scale, for the Rankine’s active condition by combining the individual pressure diagrams induced by the back soil and three surcharges. (B) Determine the net Rankine active fore per unit length of the wall based on the resulting (combined) lateral pressure distribution diagram from Part A. Note 1: Water pressure acting on both the inside and the outside faces of the wall must be taken into account Note 2: Use 5 equally spaced “depth intervals” for assessing the lateral pressure diagram from an individual surcharge Note 3: Document your answers by following the same step-by-step solution protocol, including tables, for solving the examples included in your class notes.
