Objective: The main objective of this lab is following Measure and calculate the Ac and Dc characteristics for class-A, Class-B and Class-AB amplifier by using the MultiSim Simulation. Measure and calculate the Ac and Dc characteristics Class-B and Class-AB amplifier experiment on hardware. Compare the Results of Simulation and experiment. Equipment Required: A PC/Laptop. Multisim software. Resistors(10k,22k,22ohm,10ohm,330 ohm) Transistors(2N3904,2N3906, 2N3055 and power transistor) Diode(1N914) Theory: Power Amplifiers: Power amplifier is an electronic type amplifier that is actually designed to increase the power of a given input signal and its magnitude. Power of input signal is increased to high level enough to drive loads of output devices like headphones, speakers, RF transmitters etc. Unlike current/Voltage amplifiers, a power amplifier is device that is designed to drive loads directly and that is used as final block in an amplifier chain. Power Amplifier Classes: To differentiate the behavior and the characteristics of different power amplifier circuits, Power Amplifier Classes are actually used to identify the mode and method of operation. Power amplifiers are broadly classified into two categories. A, B, AB or C category. D, E, F category

In first category Power amplifiers amplify the analog signals while in 2 nd category Power amplifiers amplify the Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) or digital signals. The most commonly power amplifiers that are used widely are the ones that are used in audio amplifier circuits and they lies in 1 st category A, B, AB or C. We’ll observe this category in Details. Class A amplifier Simulation: In Class A amplifier the collector current flows all the times during the full cycle after giving the input signal, then this type power amplifier is known as class A power

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
