Breakfast: 2 packets of instant oatmeal prepared with 1 cup of soy milk; 2 cups of orange juice, and 1 cup of yogurt Lunch: sandwich using 2 slices of bread with a small chicken breast; 1 canned mandarin oranges Dinner: 1 cup of cooked rice, salad containing: 2 cups of raw spinach, ½ cup of chopped tomatoes and 12 almonds; salmon patties containing: 7 crackers, 1 egg, and ½ cup of chopped onions. Snacks: 1 cup of soy milk, ½ cup of broccoli florets and ½ cup of cucumbers 1c. This is an eating plan that I would have trouble following on a fairly regular basis. The most significant barrier to implementation is the fact that I do not eat breakfast during the school week. Breakfast is essential because if provides the body with calories in order to fuel your brain for work. Breakfast is also key, because if you eat breakfast then you will be unlikely to consume heavily for lunch or dinner, or even snack a lot. I have a problem with snacking a lot and eating a lot for dinner because of the fact that I do not consume breakfast. Other barriers are the fact that some of these food items are not

easily accessible. I do not eat at the dining hall, but instead I eat at Wolves Den which serves primarily fried chicken sandwiches and things of the sort. I also live in an apartment but I do not necessarily have the money to buy several of these food items that I listed above, to have for every week. For discretionary calories I need to watch for the sugary syrup that I found in the mandarin orange cups, and flavored oatmeal packets such as “maple and brown sugar.” The discretionary calories need to be consumed very little.
