Assuming that temperature remains constant, calculate the final volume in each of the following cases: (9 points) a) Pressure of a sample of 45 L of gas is increased and the gas goes from 100 kPa to 125 kPa; = 45L c 125kPa/100kPa=36L The final volume would be 36L. b) A volume of 356 mL of gaseous hydrogen at a pressure of 95 kPa is brought to reference pressure. = 356x95kPa/100kPa=338.2 The final volume would be 338ml. c) Pressure of a sample of 2.5 L of air goes from 1.0 atm. to 250 kPa. = 2.5L x 101kPa/250kPa-1.01 The final volume would be 1.0L. 2. A bottle contains a volume of 18 L of helium at a pressure of 1.3 x 10 4 kPa. How many balloons of 4.0 L, inflated at a pressure of 130 kPa, can we fill from the bottle of helium? Assume temperature remains constant. (3 points) =18L x 13000/130=1800/4=450 We should be able to inflate 450 balloons.
