MANAGING AMAZON AND RELOCATION 2Managing Amazon and RelocationPlanningThe warehouse is a busy one; thus, it requires meticulous planning if the operations are tocontinue smoothly. As a manager, my specific areas of focus will include people, space utilization, inventory, picking, as well as dispatch. There is a need to create a formidable team through the creation of a team spirit and culture. To build such a team, I plan to use an individualapproach, which focuses on the skills and ambitions of every employee and their goals that I willthen use in the general design of workgroups. Similarly, I will encourage open communication coupled with constant coaching and training to avert any conflicts and enhance personal and professional development for the benefit of my teams. Team culture is easily maintained when the organizational goals match the individual ones. By considering and integrating personal goalsinto the broad aims of the organization, I will encourage the employees to view each other as a critical support system for their goals, thus favoring a team collaboration as opposed to individualized roles.For space utilization, I plan to keep the main warehouse occupied with inventory only. For other items related to the operations, including employee equipment, we will create a separate storage location. This step is meant to maximize the actual warehouse space and avoid confusion. I plan to effectively use about 90% of the allocated space, with the 10% giving room for any errors and special storage needs such as disputed orders pending resolution. Similarly, damaged items, those that are returned, new supplies, and outgoing supplies, will each be allocated a separate section, and both the division and the products will have to be numbered. Each supervisor will be managing specific sections and all the employees working in the area. I will incorporate technological systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning Systems to
