The first flaw in this is what is actually stated in textbooks. It is unclear whether or not the
Roman Catholic Church considered heliocentrism to be a heresy in 1600. It is unclear whether or
not Bruno was specifically charged with teaching that the earth moved around the sun. In other
words, what little the book included about Bruno may not be true. This is a major flaw because
facts are presented in textbooks about Bruno, yet they are not certain what is the truth about why
he was charged for heresy.
A big problem with the textbook information about Bruno is about how much important
details had been left out about Bruno and his life. Bruno was a Catholic priest during the
inquisition, yet he also embraced pantheism. He also tried to promote a cult of sun worshippers.
