Team Group A Ch. 7 Task 1 For the reading of Chapter 7, there were two main topics that stuck out to us as a group. The first subject we went over was the concept of how it takes a whole village to educate a child. It was interesting to see that while the original meaning of the phrase describes the intentionality of a community investing into the growth of its kids, it has evolved to more showcase the inadvertent effects that said community has. This idea, summed up in the line, “the community itself serves as a laboratory for learning,” gives us as future educators an idea as to why our students will act the way they do and why we will play such an instrumental role in their lives. Because we will be around these students for 180 days of the year, it gives us a big responsibility
