Atthe beginning of time, God chose the family to be at the head of creation. We find the formationof the family and the cultural mandate given to both man and woman in Genesis 1:27-28 thatstates, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him;Male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitfuland multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and overthe birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”(ESV, 2016). Thefamily was created to be a reflection of God’s love and His fatherly character. The family is thenucleus of our society, a place of safety in which children are raised and can experience the Loveof God through their parents. However, because of sin and its destructive results, many familiestoday are suffering from anxiety, depression, mental anguish, pain, physical and mental diseases,and disorders. Some look for solace to their pain and brokenness in addictive behaviors anddependencies.Meanwhile, others recognize that this is not the way and reach out for help fromcommunity counseling professionals who can offer support and guidance to begin a journeytogether towards healing and restoration. Thus the case of the Williams’ family. They are facingvarious issues and require help. This paper includes a plan of intervention centered on thecommunity-counseling model and designed for the family. The data and information gathered in
