Obesity can lead to financial impacts and numerous health problems including high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, anddepression. (Sacheck & Glynn, 2012)Prevalence 2017 Data shows that Indiana’s rate of childhood obesity is 17.5% with the national rate being 15.8% for children aged 10 to 17. (Jacqueline Howard, 2018) As you can see, Indiana is above the national rate. StatisticsOne in three children is overweight. Overweight adolescents have a 70% chance of being an obese adult. If this continues, 86% of adults will be obese by 2030. (Higgens, 2011) 11.9% of children ages 6 to 17 engage in 4 or more hours of screen WAYS TO COMBAT OBESITYPhysical activityHealthy eatingNo sugary drinksEducate children about obesity and better choices
