Music 320 – Nifty Notebook Page Title:   Counting Sheep Subject:   Science Curriculum Source:       Song found on children’s CD, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom  by John Archambault and David Plummer - appropriate for lower  elementary students, second or third Materials:       felt board and several felt animals, several animal books  and resources for the children to use. Creative Idea:       This song is a lot of fun and includes several different  concepts.  I would use it to lead into a science lesson about different  animals and their habitats.  I would have the children work in small  groups and choose an animal to research.  The kids would then draw  a picture together as a group that represents the kind of habitat their

Cross Curricular: This song could also be used for a math lesson on counting. Follow Up: This lesson could be followed up by having the children study sleep and how important it is for all living things. For this I might have them keep a record of their nights for one week. They would collect data on their bed times, how long it took them to fall asleep, any dreams they had and what time they work up....
