Chapter 4 3-2-1 Cards
1.The three things I learned in chapter 4 were vocabulary, morphology, and the importance of the
need to grow the English Lexicon among our students. I learned that vocabulary improves the
student’s ability to be in college and excel in their career. Morphology goes hand and hand with
vocabulary and is the branch of linguistics that addresses how words are formed and how we
process and generate new words such as when one Greek root word branches out into many other
words. The last thing being how the English lexicon is always growing but how it gets complex
the more words we learn. A great example would be the example they used in the book where
they talked about pass out the papers and another way to say it would be distributing the
documents.
2. Two questions I still have are in what timely manner can we fit this in with our students?
