The playwright was written by Simon Stephens, who adapted the novel by Mark Haddon. The story of this play can help people view the world in a new perspective, which helps show the audience that it is okay to be different. The play was about a young boy named Christopher who lived with his father. Christopher has an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Christopher was walking around the neighborhood one night and seen Mrs. Shears dog Wellington stabbed with a giant fork. Mrs. Shear believed it to be Christopher’s fault for the dog being dead. The police arrive, and Christopher claims that he did not kill the dog and that he never tells lies. After Christopher’s dadpicks him up from the police station Christopher decides to investigate who killed Wellington thedog. While at school Christopher’s tell Siobhan his teacher about what happened to Wellington and that he is going to find out who had done it. Once Christopher got home from investigating the neighborhood his father Ed eventually forbids his son from the investigation and makes his son promise to stop the nonsense now. Later on, during the play Christopher was searching for a book that his father took away from him. While searching his father’s room in the closet he had found the book but also letters from his mother. The letters from his mother were recently writtenbut Ed had told Christopher that his mother had died from a heart attack. While reading the letters Christopher was confused and angry. His father eventually comes home from work and notice Christopher on the floor with the letters surrounding him. Ed tells Christopher the truth
