What do you consider a non-negotiable rule? Identify three of your future non-negotiable rules
and explain why you chose them. What is the difference between non-negotiable rules and
classroom values? How are these essential to the classroom?
Hello Dr. Portugal and Class,
I would consider a non-negotiable rule something that cannot be changed or simply are not to be
negotiated. These rules are expectations and values needed for the classroom. Non negotiables
rules should always be followed, and if not, consequences need to be given.
The following are three non-negotiable rules that I will have for my future classroom:

Students will follow arrival procedure. This simply means when students arrive it is
expected that they come in, take their homework folders out, put away their jackets and
backpacks, grab breakfast, eat, complete morning and use the restroom if need be before
the bells rings. This rule is important because staying consistent and on time is extremely
important. I am trying to create a routine that will stick with my students.
