Thinking and Language Reflection Worksheet a) How do individuals acquire and develop language? From my understanding language is something that is a learned, just as a good or bad behavior is learned. It is part of an individual’s developmental milestone, A child learns language from as early on as birth by mimicking sounds, and words he/she hears. Once the language is acquired the thought process begins. Language that forms the words and provides meaning. For example, if an infant is raised by a pack of wolves all he or she will develop as language is howling, growling, moans or wines. Therefore, not knowing how to communicate any other way. Whereas raised by a human he will learn language that forms the words and provides meaning. b) How do you personally communicate your thoughts and how did you learn to do so? Personally, communicating my thoughts, I began developing them as an infant. As we grow, we learn different ways to communicate our thoughts as parents we learn each sound an infant/child make. For example, one sound means hungry, another means diaper
