EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The purpose of this research is to develop and conduct a toolbox talk on a type of workplace that have been identified within a workgroup. In this case, the work group is a group of 5 member staff working in Thai Pothong, a well-known restaurant in Newtown, NSW Sydney. In part A, the talk will be frequently delivered to this group of workers with health and safety issues being highlighted. After the talk finished, a standard training will be operated, all members of the group will be trained within this procedure, which is introduced in part B. Part A: Toolbox talk A toolbox talk can be easily defined as a short safety talk which covers a specific safety topic or subject within a workplace. Other term for this activity can be safety briefing, safety meeting, safety moment, … (Emma,2017). In the case of this assignment, a simulated workgroup of 5 staff member will be chosen to conduct the toolbox talk. This workgroup will be under a work environment, resemble Thai Phothong, a famous restaurant in Newtown, NSW Sydney. Identify hazards: According to Interfaith Worker Justice (2009), there are various main types of hazards can occur within a restaurant working environment, which are: Environmental hazard, Chemical hazard and the combine of other low chance hazard. Environmental hazard (or safety hazard) need to be concerned the most due to its frequently and high chance in occur. This type of hazard included but not limit to tools placement, unstable work path (like slippery floor), kitchen equipment, …. Chemical (and biological) hazards can also happen during restaurant environment but occur with a lower frequency than the

first type. This hazard type includes cleaning supplies chemicals, pests, bacteria, viruses…. The last is the combine of hazard that can be occurred within workplace, but with a lowest chance to happened and some of them can be easily managed. These additional hazards will include Physical hazard (lifting, standing, ...), psycho-social hazard (customers/stress, robbery...). The following draft is an example for all these
