Abstract This study of classroom care and community seeks to determine the effects that students personal religiosity can have on the behavior of care developed in the classroom and thus on the broader school-wide. Previous research has also shown that these positive classroom environments impact the school-wide. The point of this study was to solidify the positive link between classrooms and school community and how to looks at the effects that religiosity of student has creating the behavior of caring within his or her classroom. Students took a survey to gather key data to pursue this project. Ultimately our notion that classroom experiences affect the school-wide community was validated, while measuring the impact of religiosity proved hard to measure and analyze. This paper fits nicely in the conversation about the effects of personal religiosity on caring classrooms and school communities and tries to make the leap to connect religiosity to this discussion. ii

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS We would like to thank our thesis adviser, Mrs. Ma. Cristina A. Cruz, for his continuous support, patience, guidance and advice throughout the research process. She was with us for our practical research project as well, so we are doubly grateful for the influence she has had in our academic career. Were also deeply grateful for our panelist, Ms. Ederliza L. Domanillo and Kathleen Brosas. All of their encouragement, help, and professionalism are duly noted and greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank Joselle Mendoza, Kathlyne Fermine, Arvin John Pasco, and Mark Ivan Rivera who was with me as a friend and fellow student throughout this program. Their help and humor made everything much more enjoyable and tolerable, especially during our hell week. We would like to thank our family for all of the support they have given us throughout this practical research project. If it was not for their constant encouragement and support, we may not have been able to follow through with it. We would like to thank Ms. Ederliza Domanillo, Ms. Gabriela Evangelista and Ms. Nina Lyra Tabor for providing the time and effort to be our validator. Thank you all for your support and help with this project. Most of all we would like to thank my Heavenly Father who has given us strength beyond our own capabilities. We felt that all throughout this research project.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
