Dramatic terms 1.Aside : words spoken by a character (or between characters) on stage that are not heard by others; this is a function of presenting the inner thoughts of a character to the audience. Other characters ARE present on stage, but through the magic of suspended disbelief, cannot hear what is said. 2. Comic Relief : the insertion of humour to relieve the audience’s tension felt as the result of a previous scene. This can be established through words or a character. 3. Suspended disbelief – audiences and readers must ‘buy in’ to the idea that what happens in fiction is possible and plausible. We must put on hold the logical parts of our brain that question how something could possibly happen. To do this allows the audience member or reader the full experience. If one fails to do this, the experience of art, drama and literature is lost. No matter how ‘outlandish’ or unlikely something may be, you must give yourself the imaginative permission to believe it is possible!

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
