Sarah Hansen Professor Green English 1302 13, November 2019 The Never ending labels Around September 30th, 2018 there was 159,000 immigrants who had gotten deported under ICE Customs and Enforcement and over the course of a year that number has increased to 11%. Not only did the percentages increase, but once Trump took office deportations were seen happening regularly. A new TV series called, “Living Undocumented” focuses on real families being affected by Trumps Zero Policy. As a result they have to check themselves in with ICE being apprehensive on deportation. The one story that hit was a Columbian family who go by Dunoyer. They moved here to the United States in 2002 to get away from Narco Guerillas because they wanted the father to send in large amount of money from the banking company. Mr.Dunoyer declining that kind of transfer, upset the narcos which then started threatening their family with gruesome context. They fled seeking protection elsewhere because they knew the Government couldn’t handle a big cartel like that. To this present day they get letters stating how they would get killed if they ever returned to Columbia. The brothers are beyond terrified they needed to hide from ICE and drop out of school to be less of a target. Recently the dad had been deported and there is no information on his current situation. Therefore immigrants who face deportation and having to tell family members the amount of days, weeks, and or months they have until they get sent back, really leaves a giant hole in their hearts. Even more so they risk getting harmed which is

Immigrants who cross over to America do their duty as citizens in order to show their surrounding neighbors around them how much they love being American. There had been reports from Pew Research Center that calculated “8 million unauthorized immigrant workers (5%)” had compromised half the American workforce. Which is a lot more than what the native-born rate is standing at currently. “Unauthorized immigrant workers are concentrated in agriculture (17%), Construction (13%), and leisure and hospitality (9%)” (D’Costa 1) and because of the high end sharing of farm work, there's a lower rate for illegal immigrants to have a sit down office job. They’re the same hard workers who your parents most likely hired to mow the lawn, or pick up leaves during the winter times. Due to the desperate need of illegal immigrants searching for jobs, with them crossing over there are some entrepreneurs in a crowd waiting in line to get into America. Resulting in
