Jason Gomez Professor Wilson HIST 130 T/TH 11 April 2018 Reading Response 3 1. What type of source is the jackson reading? The type of source of the jackson reading is a letter. I know this because it clearly states “Jackson’s letter to congress”. 2. Who wrote it? The man who wrote the letter was Andrew Jackson. 3. What did he write about? He wrote about how the progress of the indian removal act was going. 4. When did he write it? Andrew Jackson wrote the letter in 1830. 5. Who do you believe the intended audience was for? I believe the intended audience was for congress since the letter was addressed to them. 6. Why do you believe they wrote it? What was his goal in writing this? I believe his reasoning and goal in writing this was to push congress towards the indian removal act in order for a safe expansion of the american people west.
