Jason Gomez Professor Wilson HIST R130 March 10, 2018 Going To The Source 1. The Anti Federalists objected to the constitution mainly because it gave unfair power to something they were against. For starters, they opposed a strong central government because it reminded them of what they rebelled against in 1776 and they also were against the federal government because it was too much like the British crown and parliament. The Anti Federalists also disliked the fact that the constitution did not have a bill of rights which were rights that americans had fought and died fr during the revolution. 2. Melancton Smith an Anti Federalist, uses “Natural Aristocracy” to make a statement that every society naturally divides itself into classes. He states that the representatives will mainly be made up of first class men in society rather than middle class or even lower. Meaning power would be in the hands of the first class and they could do what they please with that power most likely to be to benefit their class. Robert R. livingston a
