Assessment 2 Written or Oral Questions 1. Anticipate what resistance you may encounter from staff members and propose ways to resolve and document any issues, including: a. Negotiation (5 marks) Negotiation is the coming together of two parties that has established goals and objectives of what they are trying to negotiate to discuss with the view of concluding a jointly acceptable agreement. b. Finding common ground (5 marks) The parties involved will have open dialogues, in order to identify the strategy they will use and looking for each possible solution or possible agreement. c. Documenting any agreements (5 marks) Once the agreement has been made it has to be formalized by writing and signed by the interested parties, leaving documented, dates, agreement, duration, and try to establish a calendar in the negotiation procedures, since no one can really anticipate how long it will take the process. However, if the dates and times are set, they must be respected. 2. Name three reasons why implemented change may fail. (3 marks) - misunderstanding what the change is and why it has to be done - change implemented without planning and preparation is destined to fail. - no clarity of the organisation’s mission or vision. 3. How does training of staff take place within your department or organisation?
