Discussion 2 Each person in that scene seemed to really grasp their character. They embodied voices from the location and time the play takes place. The audience can envision the character’s life through the actor/actress’s portrayals. The body language and movement within the scene shows each character’s objectives creating a realistic performance that I believe reflects Stanislavsky’s “Method of Physical Action.” In our lecture, it states his thinking changed: “rather than creating emotion from a past experience, and using it to create realistic performance, he decided that creating a realistic performance through action could yield authentic emotion.”

Unformatted text preview: Training allows them to become aware of the character’s objectives in the play and gives them something to work towards with every word and movement they make. Not only can they determine the reason why they are performing, but they also gain insight into how they can make the character come to life. Tadashi Suzuki created an actor training method that enables actors to examine their movement in terms of space, shape, and time.
