The average waste generation of the Philippines from 2012 to 2016 is 31,661.458 tons per day. 52% of this waste is a biodegradable waste that mostly come from food and yard waste. A major contributor to this waste are chicken and duck eggs where Philippines produce 4.24 million metric tons of chicken and duck eggs which their shells has a good potential of biomass resource (Bureau of Agricultural Statistics, 2011). Philippines is mostly an agricultural country. Among the crops grown, rice coconut, sugarcane and bagasse are major contributor to biomass energy resources. The most common agricultural wastes in the Philippines are rice husk, rice straw, coconut husk, coconut shell and bagasse.
