The company started with small commercial services to include residential service calls. Today, Royal provides electrical construction services that still include projects such as tenant improvements and 24-hour service. Royal Electric Company also specializes in serves such as commercial-industrial, design & build projects as well as airports & airfield lighting and control system. The company is located in Sacramento, California; however, serves eight western states to include Hawaii. The company has a purpose as well as a mission statement all about building relationships through projects. Its mission statement is “to provide expert electrical design, construction and service to builders, contractors and facility owners who value relationships, trust, expertise and a commitment to each other towards achieving exceptional results” (Royal Electric Co., 2019). This paper will explore the company’s success as well as shortfalls. SWOT Analysis A SWOT analysis is the acronym for the different factors that a company faces. According to the text the analysis is “a systematic procedure for identifying a firm’s critical success factors: its internal strengths and weaknesses and its external opportunities and threats” (Blocher & Hicks, 2019, p. 39). This analysis allows companies to identify the factors it uses to its advantage and those factors in which a less than ideal. In Appendix 1, Royal Electric’s SWOT analysis can be found. Strengths. There are several strengths that have made Royal Electric successful, but only a few that stand out. One of the company’s standout strength is its niche in the Federal Aviation
