This webpage is called: C4 - Coquitlam College Courses Central and you can find it at: Students are encouraged to visit course webpage frequently or at least once a week and preferably before coming to the lecture. Course Description: An introduction to the basic concepts of economics with emphasis on developing students’ skills at basic understanding and analysis of economic issues. Topics will include micro and macroeconomic analysis. Course Organization: Lectures will be used to introduce the basic economics concepts and help students to analyze major economic topics and to clarify what appears in world. Regular attendance is required since material not covered in the text and testable will, from time to time, be discussed. Weekly readings must be done prior to lectures as not all chapter material will be discussed. All reading, and lecture material is testable. Textbook (optional): “How to think like an Economist” , Roger A. Arnold, Thomson South-Western Publishers (2005) Economic Way of Thinking , The, 12th Edition Paul Heyne, Peter J. Boettke, David L. Prychitko, (2010)| Pearson Prerequisites : None. Evaluation: % Comments Class attendance 5% I am hopeful that you will attend all classes. But I understand that sometimes personal/family/business issues happen. So you can skip 4 sessions and I don’t need your doctor notes, travel ticket or any other evidences for your absence and I don’t need any explanations for your own personal/family/business issues. If you miss more than 3 sessions (for any reasons), you will get ZERO . If you arrive late (more than 15 minutes) twice, it counts as one of the absent session.Students are expected to attend at least 50% of their classes or they may be excluded from taking the final exam.
