Brooklyn Lewis WK 3-Q1 COLLAPSE I think the main idea of this reading was the introduction of what a blue ocean is and how one creates potential for it. Blue ocean is the term that describes the uncontested new market space that is created amidst making the competition irrelevant. This happens by creating a leap in value for buyers and the company through creating new demand and changing the definition and perception of the consumer. I thought the idea posed on page 30 that introduces the thought of focusing on not competitors, but alternatives and not customers but noncustomers. This makes your company think about not how they can steal competitors, and how they instead grow the market (blue ocean). Companies also need to stop assuming the valuable factors of their business, take a step back, and discover what those actually are presently. In this way, they can better evaluate what factors they should eliminate and discontinue moving forward.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
