Student Handout for Interpretation: Lab Values Directions Identify the following chronic and neurodegenerative disorders based upon the laboratory values and signs and symptoms. Laboratory Values, Signs and Symptoms Disorder Autoantibodies directed against muscle acetylcholine receptors are detected. Myasthenia Gravis (MG) Seizures are present. Epilepsy Patient presents with bradykinesia, “pill rolling,” and postural rigidity. Parkinson’s Disease Patient complains of bilateral head pain and muscle stiffness in neck and shoulders. Tension Headache Patient presents with progressive loss of motor function. Cognitive processing and sensation are intact. ALS Stabbing unilateral pain is accompanied by nasal discharge and tearing of the eye. Cluster Headache Patient recently suffered an infection, now appears with progressive bilateral paralysis beginning on the lower extremities. GBS Patient complains of head pain that lasts for hours, along with photophobia and phonophobia. The patient “sensed something was different” before the headache appeared. Migraine Headache Create a patient scenario that contains enough relevant information for others to identify the condition. Complete 4 patient scenarios from the list below
