NAME: LEAH KINTIBA COURSE: BUS 2203 Principles of Finance 1 - Term 2 WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT According to the website given on the Monetary Policy and the Housing Bubble written by Dokko, Doyle, Kiley, Kim, Sherlund, Sim, and Heuvel (2009) on how the housing bubble of interest and prices that accompanied it may or may not have been affected by the monetary policy. There were many assumptions and curiosities that were seamlessly explained throughout the report and some were still left vague. But going through all this information was a little overwhelming for me but it was very informative also. But because it was so informative I found out that the US monetary policy during the early 2000’s suffered a moderate recession with a negative impact on the fast decline of the stock prices and the country’s economy. Many researchers suggested that the loose monetary policy during the first half of the 2000’s was the root cause of the increase of the prices for houses in many countries. The authors of the work paper presented some statistical analysis which entails that if the US monetary policy had followed the simple policy rule the bubbling housing market developments would have been modestly different.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
