3 Autobiography Israela Teachout was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 5 th , 1990. She was born to a Guatemalan mother and an American father who was born and raised in Michigan. Her father worked as a Chicago public school teacher and her mother cleaned homes. They lives in Rogers Park, Chicago until Israela was 5 years old. At 5 years old, Israela and family moved to the western suburbs for a better education. Israela attended a private K-8 school and went off to Naperville North High School where she was President of her chapter club: Family, Career, Community Leaders of America. Israela represented her chapter at national’s where she won first place for her showcase manual. This would set the tone to Israela’s later accomplishments in life. While in high school, Israela started working at Dunkin Donuts at the age of 15. Her parents could not afford to buy her things so she chose to buy them herself. She later found a job at Cowart Chiropractic where she worked as a Chiropractic Assistant for 4 years. She started her banking career at TCF Bank where she won numerous awards and later became the number 1 banker in her region for US Bank. In 2016, she left banking all together to pursue a career in education. Israela always had a passion working with students and thought this new change would be a good fit for her. Israela currently works at Career Education Corporation as a Senior Admissions Advisor where she leads her division as the number 1 advisor. Her hopes are to stay with the company and go through multiple promotions in the next few years.
