“The Working Poor” While watching the video “The Working Poor”, I find that there is a lot of truth to what is being shown in it. Now a days in the United States especially in the bigger cities it is virtually impossible to afford a place to live in if you are working a minimum wage job. Even those that earn more than the minimum are finding it difficult to afford rent. It is my belief that no person that works a full-time job should struggle to be able to afford a roof over their heads. Unfortunately, this seems to be the more of the case almost every where I look. Most young people are still living at home, because they can’t afford a to get their own place; keep in mind that many of these individuals work full time jobs and make more than the minimum wage. I have coworkers that commute daily from Temecula out to Riverside so that they can afford

I believe that one of the only ways to fix this ongoing housing crisis is to make sure that as inflation goes up especially when it comes to housing that the wages go up as well. If the prices for housing keeps increasing and wages do not keep up with, we will see more and more people living in their cars, tents or in the streets since they are unable to afford rent. As a young person I don’t think I will be able to afford to buy a house and will probably only be able to rent due to prices of homes. It seems that the “American Dream” that many people had is no longer attainable to many people. That is something that needs to be changed, because things cannot go on the way they currently are. No one that works a full time job regardless of what they are making should have to struggle with paying rent or potential homelessness....
