General Information Course : MGCR 293 Managerial Economics (Section 02) Class time : Mondays (8:35am - 9:55am) Class room : BRONF 151 Classes start : Wednesday, September 4 th , 2019. Classes end : Tuesday, December 3 rd , 2019. Midterm exam date : Friday, November 8 th , 2019, 3:00pm 5:00pm. Final exam date : TBA 3. Course Evaluation: Your final grade in this course will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Term paper (in groups) 12% Two assignments (individual or in groups) 5 * 2 = 10% Mid-term exam 28% Cumulative final exam 50% Total 100% Term Paper (12%): There will be a term paper for this course and I will form groups consisting of 6 or 7 students . The different activities involved with this assignment are as follows: a) Form a group of 6 or 7 students. b) Choose a topic related to managerial economics that is of interest to the group members and analyze it as it pertains to this course. Specifically, your analysis must link to one or more aspects of managerial economics (e.g., demand, supply, market structure, competition, cost, and pricing strategies). c) In the context of the topic, you need to first decide on a particular issue that you would like to address and generate 3-4 questions related to that issue which are related to this course. Subsequently, you can perform the analysis in order to answer the questions. d) You have to submit the names of your group members, the selected topic and 3-4 questions that you are going to address by Sunday, October 6 th , 2019, 6:00 pm. Each group will submit one document by e-mail. I will approve the topic and questions before you perform the detailed analysis. If you do not submit the term paper proposal by the due date, you might receive a 1-point deduction. e) Term paper submission : You have to submit a 12-page report by Tuesday, December 3 rd , 2019, 6:00 pm (one report per group) in both a hardcopy format (in the class) and a PDF file format by email. See Section 9 for detailed guidelines about the paper format.
