Article Analysis 1 Introduction: The purpose of the milkshake study was to see if people’s perception of satisfaction after consuming food would change based on how the food was presented. Previous research indicates that what a person expects when they consume something affects their preferences. Additionally, how many calories a person believes they consume- whether it is high or low, not so much the actual amount- usually impacts their further consumption. Basically, the more calories a person believes they consumed, the more satisfied (full) they feel. Over the last few decades, more scientists have been looking at the biological pieces that impact food intake and weight. One such piece is the hormone ghrelin.
