Dr. Papafratzeskakou 25/9/2017 Intro to Psychology Parent protection in context Child-Parent attachment, and the child’s felt security, unlike what might think does not simply relate to how good of a play mate parents are, and how attentive they might be in general, but rather it is comprised and thereby affected by many different factors. The infant, for one, plays a great role in what kind of a relationship it will have with his/her parents. More specifically, a child’s temperament affects how strong of an attachment/security it will have with his/her parents and how much effort, as a result the parent needs to put in to keep the bond closes. Children that are relatively less easy going, more fearful and less soothable may require much more attention and “work” from the parents in order to have the same felt security of an easy going child. The family and the environment the child lives seems to also affect the felt security of children. Dysfunctional families, with regards to how violently the parents
