Daisy De La O Mr. Errickson GOVT 2306 30 November 2019 Final Exam 1. Analyze the evolution of the Texas political system. Be sure to include at least one individual or document that influenced the current Texas Constitution and one change in the federal system impacting Texas. (LOs 1, 2) Texas, the second largest state in the United States, in which the government operates under the Constitution of Texas. The Texas political system has followed the same guidelines since it first came about, however, it continues to be modified and improved. On March 1, 1836 is where it all began, the Convention of 1836. This Convention was held in Brazo, Texas that involved the elected delegates of that town. The next day after the meeting, independence from Mexico was declared, which established the Republic of Texas. The Texas Constitution was strongly influenced by individual, Jacksonian Democracy, a political philosophy, that was highly known for his democratic work with President Andrew Jackson, during the 1830s through the 1850s. Jacksonian argued about the activist government and how the political power should only help a small number of elites. Jacksonian main purpose was to have more people be active in the government, and was to extend voting rights, and that there would be more political officials during popular election. One change in the federal system impacting Texas would be the fact that more people are able to vote on who should run in different organizations. Now in
