He is said to be so old that he could not tolerate the heavy rains after he was found stack in the mud. “But the poor fellow is so old that the rain knocked him down.” also described as a flesh-and-blood angel who was held captive in Pelayo’s house. Besides, he was dressed like a rag picker, with only a few faded hairs left on his bald skull and very few teeth in his mouth. He is said to have an unbearable smell of the outdoors, having the backside of his wings strewn with parasites and the primary feathers being damaged by terrestrial winds. The town people did arouse the man by burning his side with an iron for he had stayed long without moving.

When he woke up early in the morning with his wife, the neighbors were there feeding him.
