According to “Are Your Sperm in Trouble,” the author Nicholas Kristof demonstrates that there is an increasing number of misshapen sperms and decreasing number, quality, and swimming capacity of sperms through the research of Shanna Swan. This problem will threaten the reproductive health in the future. Besides, Roni Caryn Rabin, the writer of “A Call for Action on Toxic Chemicals,” mentions that the interaction between chemicals in common household items and human affects the developing brain. The primary factor comes from the common class of chemical called endocrine disruptors which is found in cosmetics, pesticides, plastics, and other products. Endocrine disruptors are defined as the chemicals which negatively influence on developmental, reproductive, neurological, and immune effects due to getting involved in the body’s endocrine. Some of those chemicals are phthalates and polybrominated diphenyl ethers.
