QUESTIONS 1. The graph indicates that the data fits a straight line and that there is a linear relationship between the conductivity and the molarity of the sodium sulfate solutions. This is demonstrated by the R² value because it is 1. The closer the R² value is to 1, the closer the independent variable and dependent variable are related. 2. An error that a student could make while preparing a solution via dilution that would result in the concentration being higher than intended could occur if too much of the stock solution was added to the volumetric flask. In this experiment, if more than 10mL of the stock solution was added to the volumetric flask because the correct amount was

The conductivity values were 12,990 for .1M of sodium chloride and 670 for .1M of acetic acid. Because sodium chloride is a strong electrolyte, it makes sense that it has a higher conductivity value than acetic acid, which is a weak electrolyte. The reason for this is because of the strength of their electrolytes which correlates to their conduction strength. Strong electrolytes are good conductors of electricity and weak electrolytes are weak conductors of electricity. 4. Using conclusions and data from this experiment, the more ions in a solution, the greater the conductivity. Therefore, .1 M of Na CO solution should have a higher conductivity ₂ ₃ value than the same concentration of an NaCl solution....

What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
