Hello everyone! My name is Daniel Washington and I am a first year I/O Psychology Masters student and the Career Development Coordinator of TIOPSS. I received my bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University in May 2017. I chose to pursue Industrial/Organizational Psychology because I knew since high school that I wanted to go into the field of psychology since I have a knack for understanding what drives human behavior, what motivates us to pursue our goals, and how we design institutions as platforms to fulfill our personal goals. When I first found out about I/O Psychology after doing extensive research on various fields of psychology during undergrad, I knew that this field was the right fit for me because it aligned with my personal research and career interests. I wanted to examine the complexities of organizations and their relationship with group social norms in the workplace, so I knew that establishing a career in I/O would expose me to concepts that I can apply in real world work settings. Some of my areas of interests include leadership, career development, recruiting, talent acquisition, diversity training, and employee morale, which are all driving factors to organizational management. As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
