At the clinic where I am currently performing my internship some of the professional behaviors I have observed are their dress code, their language and opportunities to help. In the office everyone is well dressed, the psychiatrics and psychologist mostly wear suits; everyone refers to others with cordiality and using Ms. or Mr. before their names. There are many opportunity for growth at this particular clinic, I have made myself very available and learned their routine very quickly. Dr. Gadomski mentions in the video the opportunity to view client’s files and I actually enjoy that part most right now, because I get to read client’s psychological evaluations, treatment plans, and doctor’s SOAP notes. It is very intriguing and fascinating to me to be able to read and practice hands on everything that I have been just learning

Unformatted text preview: from a book. I take confidentiality very seriously and so does the clinic. My first day there I had to sign about 5-6 pages of paper work that dealt mainly with confidentiality and undergo a training on how to handle certain situations. For example, when filing a client’s paperwork or at the front desk if someone needs my attention I am supposed to put whatever papers are in my hands upside down, so that no one can read over them. I have noticed that some people do not follow that procedure but I have been very careful. Also, when at the front desk if a doctor needs a file or some documents for a client we are not to say his/her name when someone else is standing at the window....
