Our country was being targeted, therefore we felt the need to get involved and attack back. Article X (10) of the League of Nations is the section calling for assistance to be given to a member that experiences external aggression . It was signed by the major Peacemakers (Allied Forces) following the First World War , most notably Britain and France. Due to the nature of the Article, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson was unable to ratify his obligation to join the League of Nations , as a result of strong objection from U.S. politicians. Many senators had concerns about Article X of the League of Nations. As a result of this concern, America did not enter the League of Nations. 1. What was the main concerns of the U.S. Senators as it relates to Article X to the League of Nations? If we signed the League of Nations, we would have to enter into war with our allies. “We intend to begin on the first of February unrestricted submarine warfare. We shall endeavor in spite of this to keep the United States of America neutral. In the event of this not succeeding, we make Mexico a proposal of alliance on the following basis: make war together, make peace together, generous financial support and an understanding on our part
